Vendor list · AI for energy & utilities
AI for energy and utilities, scored on the published rubric.
Cohort inclusion criteria
- Grid & DER orchestration: DERMS, demand response, virtual power plants, flexibility, and real-time grid-edge optimization.

- Regulatory, security & compliance: NERC CIP, SOC 2 / ISO 27001, utility cybersecurity, and energy-data privacy posture.
This vendor set is deliberately broad: a customer-billing platform does not orchestrate the grid edge, and a grid-measurement vendor does not run utility billing. Each vendor is scored on its actual coverage of every dimension - a dimension a vendor's product category structurally does not address scores zero, not a penalty for missing evidence.
Rubric (7 dimensions)
- Grid + DER orchestration (20%) - DERMS, demand response, virtual power plants, flexibility, and real-time grid-edge dispatch and optimization.
- Utility customer engagement + billing (15%) - digital customer experience, billing / rate design / CIS, energy-efficiency programs, and marketplace.
- Energy data analytics + forecasting (12%) - meter / AMI data analytics, load disaggregation, consumption analytics, and demand / DER forecasting.
- Ease of data integration + accuracy (25%) - connectors across AMI / MDM, CIS, SCADA / ADMS / DERMS, GIS, and ERP, with standard energy protocols and documented APIs. The heaviest-weighted dimension.
- Asset performance + grid reliability (10%) - renewable / grid asset performance management, predictive maintenance, and grid measurement and monitoring.
- Regulatory, security + grid compliance (8%) - NERC CIP alignment, SOC 2 / ISO 27001, utility cybersecurity, and energy-data privacy posture.
- Cost economics + time-to-value (10%) - pricing transparency, documented ROI / payback, and a reasonable-for-utilities deployment timeline.
