Inclusion criteria
- Order capture: reads customer purchase orders from email, PDF, spreadsheet, fax, EDI or voice and turns them into validated ERP orders.
- Quoting & RFQ response: reads specs, bills of materials and takeoffs, matches items, and drafts quotes and bids.
- Product data matching: resolves customer and competitor part numbers, units of measure and substitutes against the distributor's item master.
- ERP write-back: posts into the systems distributors run (Epicor Prophet 21 and Eclipse, Infor SX.e / CSD, NetSuite, SAP, Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics), with named distributor, manufacturer or rep customers.
This set mixes tools built only for distributors with document-AI and order-to-cash platforms that sell to many industries. Each vendor is scored on what it ships against every dimension. A dimension a product category does not address by design scores zero; thin evidence is not scored as zero.

01 Canals Cross-industry 77 /100
Top strength Canals turns inbound orders arriving by email, PDF, spreadsheet, handwritten note or voicemail into drafted orders and posts them back into ERP systems such as Epicor Eclipse, Prophet 21, Infor and NetSuite.
Top gap Almost every performance number, including the 96 to 99 percent accuracy figure, comes from Canals itself rather than an outside check, and no prices are published, so a buyer has to verify both in a pilot.
Best for A fit for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, industrial supply and building-materials distributors running Epicor, Infor or NetSuite, less so for buyers who need margin and price guidance or a firm cost up front.
02 Esker Cross-industry 62 /100
Top strength Esker takes in customer orders from email, EDI, PDF and portals, checks each line against the ERP record, and reports that roughly 74 percent of orders go through without staff handling them.
Top gap Esker does not quote or price on the sales side, because its quoting tools are built for buying from suppliers and it offers no margin or pricing guidance, so distributors keep that work in another system.
Best for Esker suits distributors that want order entry, supplier invoice handling and connections to ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Sage and Prophet 21 in one system, and not teams whose main gap is customer quoting or pricing.
03 Distro Cross-industry 61 /100
Top strength Distro reads incoming quote requests, purchase orders and bid documents, prices them against catalog and customer data, and writes the finished quote back into the distributor's own ERP, including Prophet 21, Eclipse, Infor and NetSuite.
Top gap Every customer name, match-accuracy figure and time saving comes from Distro's own website, with no outside reviews or verified numbers to check them against, and pricing is quote-only with no published tiers.
Best for A fit for multi-branch HVAC, plumbing, electrical and industrial distributors that want quoting handled with little IT work, and not for small single-branch distributors or buyers who need published pricing before they commit.
04 Endeavor AI Cross-industry 58 /100
Top strength Endeavor AI reads orders from email, PDFs and spreadsheets, matches the items to your catalog, and writes them back into ERPs including SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, Infor and Epicor, with quoting and invoice matching on the same path.
Top gap Every product claim comes from archived pages, not the live site, which now sells consulting and custom build work, and Endeavor publishes no accuracy testing, so buyers must confirm the software is still sold.
Best for A fit for distributors between $10M and $10B in revenue that run orders and quotes through a named ERP and want a quick start, not for buyers who need firm pricing and tier detail before they commit.
05 WizCommerce Cross-industry 56 /100
Top strength Turns customer requests arriving as emails, PDFs, scans or spreadsheets into priced quotes and orders that write back into ERP systems including NetSuite, Epicor Prophet 21 and QuickBooks.
Top gap There is no evidence it handles supplier invoices or payables, and every captured order still needs a person to review it before posting to the ERP, with no verified figure for how many orders pass through untouched.
Best for Wholesale distributors with reps taking orders by email, PDF and phone who already run NetSuite, Epicor Prophet 21 or QuickBooks, not buyers looking to automate supplier invoices or to price the core platform without a sales call.
06 Proton.ai Cross-industry 52 /100
Top strength Proton.ai reads orders and quotes from emails, PDFs, spreadsheets, handwritten notes and EDI, then writes them straight into Epicor, Infor, SAP or NetSuite without manual re-entry.
Top gap Proton.ai does not automate supplier invoices, purchase-order acknowledgments, or three-way matching, and the vendor scopes that work outside its product entirely.
Best for This fits mid-size and larger distributors on Epicor, Infor, SAP, or NetSuite who want automated order and quote intake, but it does not fit distributors needing supplier or accounts-payable automation, which Proton.ai does not offer.
07 Workist Cross-industry 51 /100
Top strength Workist turns emailed, PDF and spreadsheet orders into ERP entries, checking each line against live master data and learning each customer's own part numbers so staff retype fewer order lines.
Top gap Workist's accuracy and touchless-rate figures come from the company itself, with no stated method behind them and no outside confirmation, so buyers should ask for proof on their own order documents.
Best for Workist fits mid-sized wholesalers handling 50 or more orders a day who want orders, inquiries and supplier confirmations written straight into their ERP, not teams wanting priced quotes, margin guidance or full invoice matching.
08 Conexiom Cross-industry 50 /100
Top strength Conexiom writes orders and invoices straight back into more than 40 ERP systems, including Prophet 21, Eclipse, SAP S/4HANA and NetSuite, without changes to the ERP, and it reads orders from PDF, email, Excel and handwritten notes.
Top gap Quoting and pricing features remain unproven, with request-for-quote handling appearing only in blog posts, the Revenue Signals module announced without production evidence, and no pricing published anywhere.
Best for A good fit for distributors pushing high volumes of purchase orders and supplier invoices through mainstream ERPs, and a poor fit for teams that need quote automation, sales pricing help, or published pricing up front.
09 Parspec Cross-industry 48 /100
Top strength Reads project specs and schedules and turns them into a priced parts list, matching items to stock and suggesting alternates from a database of over 6 million products, with quoting time cuts reported by named distributors.
Top gap It does not take in customer purchase orders or support EDI, and it does not document how deeply it writes data back into Eclipse, Prophet 21 or SAP, so order entry and supplier invoice work stay manual.
Best for A fit for electrical and building systems distributors that bid from project specs and want faster quotes and submittals, not for a distributor whose main goal is automating inbound order entry or supplier invoices.
10 Mercura Cross-industry 44 /100
Top strength It turns orders, quotes and tenders coming in by email, PDF, Excel or voice into priced quotes matched to the right products, then passes them into the ERP for review.
Top gap Its ERP integrations only push data outward, with no confirmed way for information to sync back and no published figures on how accurate that data hand-off is.
Best for Good fit for mid-market HVAC, building-materials and infrastructure distributors with heavy email and PDF tender volume who want faster quoting tied to their ERP, not for those needing two way ERP sync or supplier and invoice automation.
