Editorial assessment

Fireflies.ai is not an outbound platform. It is a conversation-intelligence and meeting-capture layer that feeds upstream into CRM and sales workflow. The 1M+ company user count and 4.8/5 G2 rating point to wide adoption in a segment where the buying motion is self-serve, not enterprise sales. The free tier - unlimited transcription, 800 min storage, API access - is the most generous exploration path the rubric found in the conversation-intelligence segment.

The scoring pattern tells the product story clearly. Setup time scores 4/4 (sub-5-minute calendar-connect, no IT required) and cost-per-seat scores 3/4 (cheapest paid tier at $10/seat annual). The zeros and twos cluster in deliverability (0/4 - Fireflies does not send outbound) and personalization quality (2/4 - AI Skills improve meeting output but do not drive personalized outbound copy). Teams expecting a Gong-class deal intelligence platform will find the conversation analytics more lightweight; teams expecting email automation will find it absent.

The April 2026 AI Sales Coach launch is a directional signal: Fireflies is moving from meeting recorder toward coaching and pipeline-intelligence surfaces. The MCP Server integration with Claude and ChatGPT adds a new automation surface. Neither has been independently measured. The competitive ceiling for a company with sub-$20M in disclosed funding against Gong ($334M raised), Clari ($462M), and Chorus (acquired by ZoomInfo) is real. For Foundation and Pilot-stage companies that need meeting intelligence without a $50K+ contract, Fireflies is the clearest fit in this batch.

Best for

Right-of-reply

Fireflies.ai received this tear-sheet seven calendar days before publication of the Yardstick Research 2026 Yardstick Report, including all measured numbers, sample outputs, and editorial assessment. Fireflies.ai was given the opportunity to flag factual errors - incorrect pricing, misquoted feature availability, outdated screenshots, factual misstatement in the editorial assessment. Fireflies.ai was not given the opportunity to request a score revision, dispute the rubric or its weights, withdraw from inclusion, negotiate ranking placement, or suggest changes to the editorial assessment beyond factual correction. Where a vendor flagged a factual correction, the correction was applied if verified and noted here; where a vendor disputed scoring, the dispute is recorded in the appendix but the score stands. Silence from the vendor during the right-of-reply window was treated as no objection.
