What we keep about you, and why.
This page lists what Yardstick Research stores when you take an audit or buy a report, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted.

What we keep when you buy
Your name, your email, your company (if you gave one), the tier and industry you bought, the amount paid and any discount code, and whether your report and deck were delivered.
Your audit answers are kept with your order for one year so the report can be rebuilt if delivery fails.
Why we keep it
To deliver and redeliver what you bought, answer support questions, and handle refunds.
Payment details
Card details go to Stripe and never reach Yardstick.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside the processors listed below. We do not sell it. We do not share it with the vendors we score, and vendors cannot pay to see who bought a report about them.
Processors:
- Stripe, for payments.
- Cloudflare, for hosting and the database.
- Resend, for sending the delivery email.
- GitHub, for building your slide deck from your order in a private repository.
We email you your report link and delivery notices. You get other email from us only if you ticked the box at checkout or signed up on this site yourself, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.
If you take an audit without buying
When you finish an audit, your answers are stored without your name or email, next to a one-way hash of your network address, and are deleted after 30 days if you do not buy. We also keep an anonymous record of each audit's industry, readiness stage and score, with the same hash, so we can count how many peers have taken an audit.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records until you ask us to delete them.
Deletion and questions
Email hello@yardstickresearch.app and we delete your purchase record, your saved audit answers and any mailing-list entry. Stripe keeps its own record of the payment.
